T. J.'s Story
Life
Well -- where to begin? I've lived in California now for over eight years, and I still love it! My life-partner, Kevin, and I have a lovely house with commanding views of the desert and mountains surrounding the Palm Springs area. Kevin and I have been together for six years; he is a physician at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. I'm a GIS manager for the Department of Defense. We both enjoy our jobs, and couldn't think of possibly working anywhere else.
Kevin and I both love to travel; we recently journeyed to Australia to attend the huge Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras festival. What fun we had! We are planning a trip to Sri Lanka in the near future, and will be going to Bali in February. One of the wacky things I would like to do is take a summer off and drive a Winnebago up the Alcan Highway to Fairbanks, but our current schedules preclude us from doing so. Oh, well -- perhaps we'll do it after retirement!
We both enjoy the arts, and have many friends that work in different mediums -- from music to sculpture, and from painting to literature. We often attend ...Expand for more
art shows and concerts, especially those affiliated with charitable causes. I have collected various pieces, although we don't have all of them on display. Kevin and I like to switch them out from time to time. Doing this makes our home's environment fresh and inviting. No, we didn't get this as a tip from Martha Stewart, in case you were wondering. :-)
Eating sushi is a favorite pastime for the both of us. We visit one of our favorite sushi bars at least once a week. We also enjoy attending wine tastings and romantic balloon flights at sunrise and sunset. We go out to the clubs on occasion, but prefer to relax together in the Jacuzzi, or take dip in the pool. Joshua Tree National Park is essentially our backyard, and we love to hike among its mysterious geological formations or ride our mountain bikes through the magnificent, wondrous giants that give the park its name. Nothing is more exhilarating!
I sincerely hope that life has treated you all as well as it has treated me. Its been a great ride, and I wouldnt trade my experiences for anything! Keep cool, and may peace reign.
